Our kindergarten students identified shapes and practiced their cutting skills while building their own pizzas. So much fun! Thank you to Ohio Fire for donating the pizza boxes.

The St. Edward School Science Hall of Fame was started in the 2025-2026 school year.
Students can choose to answer a variety of science questions in biology, chemistry, physics
and Earth science categories, as an independent activity. There are small prizes at various
levels of completion but when a student has answered 25 questions they receive a candy
prize and more importantly, their name is added to the Wall of Fame plaque located in the 8 th
grade classroom.
Each time they complete multiples of 25 (50, 75, 100, etc.) their name will be added to a
plate on the plaque. Students can begin participating in this activity starting in fifth grade.
Currently we have 140 questions on the board and more will be added each year.
Jackson Horn earned the first plate on the Wall of Fame plaque as he completed 25
questions by the end of his fifth grade year. We have several more students that are very
close to getting on the Wall and all students are welcome to participate.
The questions typically cannot be answered without doing some research and citing the
source. In this way we hope the students are expanding their science knowledge and
exploring new ideas!

Field Day! Fun Day! Field Day Teams! Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Rader for and all the parent volunteers who made this possible.

The Queen of Science is at it again! Mrs. Blackford had the 7th and 8th grade students work in teams to create a roller coaster. Each coaster was made from only paper and tape. The coaster needed to be engineered in such a way that the ride had to last at least a minute. The longer it took for the marble to ride the coaster the better. The Tsunami Coaster won for the longest ride and best track. The Cloud Coaster won for the most creative. All teams did a fantastic job!

Our fifth and sixth grade students are very talented. They were divided into groups , given a theme, and then had to design an outfit that expressed the theme. The catch, the outfit had to be made from trash. They all did an amazing job. See if you can guess the theme of each of these trashions in our St. Edward School Trashion Show. Great idea, Mrs. Knowlton!

We are offering spirit wear to purchase once again. You can order using the link below. Maybe you have outgrown your current spirit wear shirt or hoodie or perhaps you never ordered anything. This is a great way to advertise the school. We will have special days throughout the year when students can wear the t-shirts.

If you are planning to be in the July 4th Parade, please order your t-shirts to wear. The colors fit in with the patriotic theme.

Today our fifth and sixth grade students participated in a compliment activity. Students sat with their backs to the board while the other students came up and wrote things about them on the whiteboard. When the students turned around to read the compliments, it was smiles all around. Everyone enjoyed the activity, including Scout. What a great idea!

Our preschool , prek, and first grade students have been taking care of their butterfly larvae. They watched them form a chrysalis and then hatch into butterflies. They fed them watermelon. The butterflies are now ready to be set free and enjoy life in the wild. Way to go Mrs. Neill , Mrs. Fulton, and all our preschool , prek , and first grade friends.

Fifth grade students practiced budgeting money by holding a class auction! Each student received their own bidding paddle and $50 to spend. All students got to bid on prizes and everyone was entered into a raffle for a larger Bob Ross-themed prize. We even had a special guest, Ms. Jessica, to help us out! It was an exciting day!

Our first grade students have been taking care of their Ladybug Larvae. The Ladybugs are now ready to be set free and enjoy life in the wild - Fr. Rod's flower bed. Way To Go Miss Fulton and First Grade!

Mrs. Blackford - Queen of Science! Our fifth grade students had to design a landing platform for an egg drop. The plan was to make it soft enough not to break the egg when it landed. It also had to have very little bounce so the egg wouldn't bounce out and break.
All the students did a great job with their designs. The champion of the egg drop was Lincoln. His egg did not break even when dropped from all the way up the stairway. Lincoln - King of the Egg Drop!

We were visited today by these beautiful ballerinas. Mary is one of our beloved alumni. They were promoting this weekends performance of Cinderella. Tickets are available on the Ashland Regional Ballet Website. Three of our students will also be a part of the performances this weekend.

Emma completed her NJHS community service project. She raised $225.00 for the Ashland County Dog Shelter. WooHoo! She also made a friend who she would have loved to take home. Fortunately, her friend did get adopted. Congratulations on a job well done!
